Vermason: The Specialists in ESD Protection

Vermason is a manufacturer of ESD protection products and was founded in Letchworth
Introduction Today, Vermason is engaged in producing a wide range of ESD products in
in 1979. In April 2007 Desco Industries, Inc. of Chino California acquired 100% of the
shares of Vermason Ltd. Vermason is now a division of Desco Industries, Inc.

our 2000 square metre factory in Letchworth, United Kingdom.

Use Vermason static control products to improve quality and throughput. According to EN
61340-5-2 “Where no ESD handling precautions are taken, a high proportion of electronic
apparatus failure can be attributed to ESD damage. The figure could in theory be reduced
to zero by adopting the precautions described in EN 61340-5-1 in all areas”.

Several sewing machines help make heel grounders, field service kits and other sewn items.
The far end of the factory is home to several light assembly processes such as crimpers, insert
moulding machines, riveting presses and ultrasonic welders. They are used to make wristbands,
coiled cords, and earth bonding points amongst others. The injection moulding presses make
various products such as earth bonding point boxes and plug cases. The bag making machines
are used to make black conductive, pink and bubble shielding bags. The computer-controlled mat
cutting machine can cut mats and boards up to 12m long and 2m wide. In an especially made
ESD protected area, test and monitor products such as resistance indicators, wrist strap testers
and constant monitors are assembled and traceable to UKAS. Vermason’s development engineers
have designed many of our products and the processes needed to manufacture them.

We can also provide training to ESD technicians and perform field surveys of premises. Vermason
products are designed to comply with the requirements of EN 61340-5 and ANSI/ESD S20.20.
